Our Zurich Core Tech team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future Oculus products. From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, Core Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.
As a Technical Artist, you will be involved in conceptualizing, prototyping and simulating experiences for the next generation of the VR platform. You’ll be responsible for designing and creating interactive Virtual Reality experiences that simulate future iterations of the product. You'll join a cross-functional team, and work with, and get feedback from, a variety of teams and stakeholders in the company.
Take creative direction and translate it into your design concepts.
Maintain assets from creation to polished demos.
Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional leads.
Clearly articulate design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders.
Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
3+ years of professional experience working on shipped titles in the games or film industries.
Experience implementing assets in real-time engines, such as Unity3D or Unreal.
Modeling and texturing skills using Maya, Blender or other 3D modeling tool.
Ability to scale assets from high-end PC platforms (Rift) to mobile systems (Gear VR) while maintaining visual fidelity.
Ability to collaborate and iterate based on the team's needs.
