Facebook's Public Policy team is seeking a Public Policy Manager for its connectivity team to help us develop our positions on global tech and video policy issues. Candidates should have experience in broadcast regulation in addition to strong knowledge of Internet policy issues, including video, telecommunications, connectivity, news, and infrastructure. They should also have drafting and analytical skills and share our vision of making the world more open and connected.
This role is full-time and is located in Menlo Park, CA or Washington, DC.
Work closely with the product teams to provide policy review and support for proposed product features and trials (e.g., Watch, Live, etc.)
Attend regular cross-functional meetings with product team, Legal, Communications, and Privacy to provide policy input
Provide regular updates and readouts from those cross-functional meetings
Act as liaison between product team and country/regional policy team
Update local policy teams on developments and provide their feedback on proposed product features and trials
Provide regulator product updates to the broader policy and legal teams, highlighting key issues and flagging potential problems
Help to prepare briefing documents including overviews, messaging and Q&A for the broader policy team and company management in advance of new product roll outs or trials
Bachelors degree in Public Policy, Business, Economics, or in a related tech field
6+ years of public policy experience
5+ years of video/telecommunications experience
4+ years experience in telecommunications policy and technology industry
JD or advanced degree
Technical degree (engineering, computer science or related field relevant to our video products)
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
