This is a full-time position based in our Washington, DC office.
Develop the appropriate strategies, liaising and communicating with cross-functional teams as appropriate
Work with the broader policy team to provide an external engagement perspective when analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals concerning privacy, data security and related technology issues
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and articulate the company's positions on key privacy and data protection issues in the form of internal briefing documents, position papers, and related documents
Design and execute strategies for buy-in and adoption from external stakeholders
Design and execute high impact policy strategies and programmatic initiatives
Represent Facebook at meetings and conferences
12+ years of experience in privacy and technology policy issues with proven track record
Knowledge in technologies and devices and of Facebook products
Knowledge of data protection and privacy legislative and policy issues
Demonstrated experience in finding solution to business issues and provide business-focused advice
Experience working on a variety of legal and policy questions
Links to articles/videos/media interviews which demonstrate their track record in this field
Native proficiency or fluency in English
Fluency in other languages
Experience working with a web 2.0 or social networking company on privacy issues
Privacy certification (e.g. CIPP or CIPM or similar)
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments under tight deadlines
