The Business Integrity team ensures safe and fair connections between people, businesses and Facebook. Research Operations Manager candidates should have a background and passion for researching the intersection of how global affairs and transnational threats affect technology platforms. You can effectively manage and develop a team that translates these trends and developments into clear analysis focused on how technology can be abused for unintended purposes, testing the threats against our own platform and experience in methodically identifying solutions for risk mitigation. After all is said and done, you are an excellent people manager and partner to relevant teams to provide remediation guidance, build better detection and prevention systems, and close out vulnerabilities. This position is located in our Singapore office.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage researchers, project managers and analysts to conceptualize and produce impactful, data-driven, and compelling reports

  2. Provide career development opportunities for team members and create solutions that will allow team to scale

  3. Identify and apply research and investigative best practices within and across teams

  4. Identify new data sources and solutions that increase the team's effectiveness

  5. Find opportunities to improve research and investigation efficiency, balancing reactive cases with longer term proactive initiatives

  6. Conduct, assist, and supervise research operations to identify and communicate trends to internal teams and leaders

  7. Gather and synthesize relevant data, facilitating improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team and impact

  8. Build strong relationships with internal partners including Operations, Engineering, Policy, Legal and External Outreach teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  2. 8+ years of relevant work experience, including ability to conduct thorough online and offline research and ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levels

  3. 4+ years of people management experience with ability to recruit and manage operations or investigation teams, including performance management

  4. Ability to develop and communicate research progress, findings, and actionable recommendations

  5. Understanding of the online ecosystem, particularly tools and tactics used to accomplish specific objectives

  6. Ability to translate technical concepts into language that is understood by many audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders and external security community members and press

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
