Summary:

The Facebook Connectivity team works with mobile operators to bring more people online both by making mobile data affordable and attractive and by innovating hardware and software solutions for industry which lower total cost of operating. Across a wide range of connectivity-related technology, we build technology which improves the efficiency and profitability of operating mobile and traditional telecoms networks in emerging markets. You will be responsible for defining products and programs which support operations of large scale networks including access networks, backhaul, and backbone/wholesale networks, with an emphasis on building tools and enterprise applications which support novel business structures and shared infrastructure. Additionally, you will structure requirements and standards for the network layer of our Wi-Fi products (including Express Wi-Fi) and for OEM manufacturer compatibility with our platforms. You will help envision, build, deploy the next generation of products deployed in partnership with mobile operators and in doing so, will be one of the key people in bringing the next billion people online. We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, structured, and possesses a mix of strong product sense, business acumen, and subject matter expertise with network operations, preferably with access, backhaul, and backbone network operations, OSS/BSS systems, other enterprise systems that support mobile operators.

This position is full-time, based in our Tel Aviv, Israel office and will require international travel.

Engineering teams supporting these efforts are in Tel Aviv and Menlo Park, California (at Facebook headquarters).

Required Skills:

  1. Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative software products for the operations and billing of backbone and wholesale data networks

  2. Similarly lead product efforts for the network, and infrastructure-related aspects of Wi-Fi programs, such as Express Wi-Fi

  3. Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

  4. Drive the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products

  6. Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers, designers, and data scientists

  7. Integrate vendor and partner market studies, usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

  9. Understand Facebook’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry

  10. Maximize efficiency and remove blockers in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of product management experience

  2. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (i.e. Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or equivalent technical work experience (e.g. software engineer, network engineer etc.)

  3. Strong communication and presentation skills

  4. Strong organizational and analytical skills

  5. Technical knowledge of access, backhaul, and backbone networks and their typical deployment architectures and challenges

  6. Technical knowledge of OSI network model, TCP/IP, MPLS and access network technologies such as Wi-Fi and 2G/3G cellular

  7. Experience developing network-focused platforms, management tools, or hardware products

  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment

  9. Languages: Hebrew, English at full working proficiency, fluency desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree or executive product management experience

  2. Experience in network or operations at a mobile network operator or at an equipment or services supplier to mobile network operators (MNOs) or Internet Service Providers (ISPs)

  3. Exposure to A/A/A schemes, including RADIUS, 802.1X, etc., and carrier-grade Wi-Fi technologies such as EAP-SIM and EAP-TTLS

  4. Start-up environment experience
