Are you a thought leader who loves to find opportunities where technology brings people together and changes the way people interact with the world around them? Product TPMs work at the cross-section between technical execution and business strategy. Being a Technical Program Manager means driving impact and delivering measurable results across a wide range of areas. Search Technical Program Manager operates within Product and Engineering organization for Facebook Search and has technical knowledge that enables them to influence and drive cross-team projects and roadmaps. Core ranking efforts sit at the heart of the search stack and build next-gen technical solutions that can be adopted across different search scenarios with a common goal of improving overall quality.
Product TPMs go through Engineering and Data Bootcamp and are expected to possess an overarching understanding of the whole system architecture (e.g. in the case of search it means understanding the core engineering systems and the data pipelines). Within search team, we also conduct periodic bootcamps to go over all search specific engineering stacks and technologies. By being embedded in an Engineering team, a Product TPM commits to learning the team's technology and to making it transparent to other teams. They make sure that dependent teams are not broken by changes, and that their team is not broken by upstream changes while clearly communicating requirements to the teams they depend on.
