Facebook Systems Lead in Seattle, Washington
As a Systems Lead, you will help design and execute next generation input/controller hardware (such as Oculus Touch) for VR devices at Oculus, focusing on bringing concepts through the NPI process (Prototype to PVT). You have deep expertise in electrical and firmware design and have shipped various types of consumer devices. As a leader in the team, you will be expected to lead and drive technical execution, you will own part selection, schematics, layout, test plan, and the development process. This is an individual contributor role that will become a lead role over time.
This role is based in Seattle, WA.
Bring a product from prototype to production
Champion of engineering rigor in phase gate development
Create specs and KPIs and deliver to these requirements
Own every aspect of electrical design - component selection, schematics, layout, test and manufacturing
Work with cross-functional engineering managers and architects on hardware and software integration
Partner closely with Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design
Create internal and external system specifications
Specify, negotiate, and document system power management and behaviors
Utilize schematic and layout tools such as Cadence
Assess and guide early layout studies
Embedded programming and scripting experience
Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging
5+ years of experience in electrical and/or firmware design
Experience in Consumer Electronics as well as shipping multiple consumer products
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering
Experience with haptics, touch, RF, batteries
Champion of process and understands the technical rigor to bring high quality product to market
Experience in gaming controller and/or input devices
Experience working with offshore partners
Experience working with Product Design engineers and other hardware/software cross-functional functions
