Facebook is looking for talented, highly motivated engineers for its Network Infrastructure Engineering team. As a member of the team, your primary function will be to ensure that the network is reliable, performant, and can scale to meet the challenges that serving over two billion people presents. Automation is the key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and deploying systems and tools to keep the network running reliably and efficiently.

This is a full-time position based in our Seattle office.
Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks
Define and develop optimized network monitoring systems
Design and deploy new network and tooling architectures
Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events
Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues
Be an active participant in deep technical discussions
Develop and maintain consistency within the networking infrastructure
Ability to participate in a regular on-call rotation
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Knowledge of routing and switching - hardware design and knowledge of forwarding and data planes
Experience developing network automation tools in at least one language (Python, Perl, Go, C++, Bash, etc.)
Protocol knowledge in one or more of BGP, MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols - knowledge of typical configurations and performance tuning
Administration and usage of Linux/Unix operating systems - experience installing and running binaries, modifying, deploying configuration files and monitor overall system health
Experience developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade, etc.)
Knowledge of TCP/IP flow control and performance
Experience understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures
Interpersonal and communications experience
Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv6 - ability to tune and modify configuration to enhance performance
Expert level network automation experience - building robust systems, handling critical network functions like deployment, operations and planning
Ability to manage long-term, project/milestone based work with multiple teams
