Summary:

Facebook is in search of the world’s most creative and experienced engineering leaders. We embrace entrepreneurs as well as those who come from more established organizations. Software Engineering Managers are clearly characterized by progressive technical experience and demonstrated progression in management responsibility. You have also kept your coding skills sharp and bring an unwavering passion for managing the dynamics of a fast-paced environment.

Our build infrastructure team is responsible for infrastructure used across all of Facebook (FB for iOS, FB for Android, Instagram, Oculus, etc.). This team has many challenges to stay ahead of the growth curve: deterministic extensibility story, build sandboxing, incremental graph, etc.

We're looking for a manager who is passionate about dev infra, and more specifically around compilers, languages, build infrastructure and dev tools in general. The ideal candidate is both scrappy and resourceful, excited about growing teams, likes to dive into complex technical challenges, and is metric-driven. Required Skills:

  1. Be both a highly technical, hands-on coder and effective people manager

  2. Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts

  3. Hold your own in technical discussion, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Java, and/or PHP

  2. Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

  3. BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)
