Facebook Gameplay Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington


As an experienced Gameplay Software Engineer on the Oculus REX team, you will be at the forefront of prototyping and shipping virtual reality experiences for new hardware. You will partner with our art and design teams to explore and implement products that set the bar for VR content inside and outside the company. The ideal candidate shares our passion for VR and gaming and will apply their expertise to developing revolutionary experiences for our platforms.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop VR’s potential through the creation of novel interactive experiences that introduce and showcase new hardware.

  2. Be an expert in gameplay prototyping and engineering, working closely with designers in developing and iterating on game mechanics and systems.

  3. Collaborate smoothly across multiple internal and external cross-disciplinary teams, spanning software to hardware.

  4. Be willing to jump into various areas of the project as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years experience working as a gameplay software engineer on games.

  2. 2+ years industry experience using C/C++.

  3. Experience with Unreal 4 to implement features in C++ and in Blueprints.

  4. Demonstrated 3D math experience.

  5. Experience working with artists and game designers.

  6. Experience working on real-time applications.

  7. Experience defining features and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working on VR projects.

  2. Experience with Android mobile development.

  3. Experience with Animation or AI development.
