Facebook Product Management Lead, Instagram Direct Messaging in San Francisco, California

Summary:

This role is to lead the Instagram Direct product and PM team. Private direct messaging is a critical part of Instagram, and Direct one of the fastest growing ways people share with each other. This leader will support a team of PMs while helping to grow and scale an incredible cross-functional team of engineering, data, research and design peers. The right leader will be excited to work in a dynamic collaborative environment that consistently pushes them to be better at what they do. They will be experienced at managing larger teams of PMs, but eager to do hands-on product-focused work as the team scales. Product Management Leaders at Instagram also work closely with teams of engineers and designers to build products. We are looking for extremely entrepreneurial PM leaders to help innovate and help execute product initiatives across the company. This position is full-time and based at our new San Francisco office.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products

  2. Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

  3. Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers

  4. Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

  5. Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products

  6. Understand Facebook’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry

  7. Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of experience in technical architecture of web applications and/or media products

  2. 8+ years experience designing user interfaces

  3. 8+ years experience creating examples through Wireframes and mock-ups

  4. 8+ years of experience taking a web product idea from concept through launch

  5. 8+ years experience in product management or product design

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience developing social products, technologies and platforms

  2. BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field
