Small business owners find information about marketing on Facebook through online research and news; local organizations and events; and sharing ideas with other small businesses. This professional will be tasked with the goal of enabling, educating and inspiring SMBs (small- to medium-size businesses) across Latam. This position will be directly responsible for managing strategic programs, events, partnerships and sponsorships that reach and educate small businesses within their local communities. Experience with marketing to SMBs, a strong understanding of the unique dynamics of this audience and the communications channels required to reach them is desired. You will be responsible for executing and growing Facebook’s existing programs, as well as identifying the largest new opportunities for investment. This role also requires people management skills and experience of building and/or managing a high performing team.

Ideal candidates are self-starters who have strong project management and organizational skills; are confident presenters; are passionate about helping people; and can build and maintain strong working relationships inside and outside of Facebook. Direct experience using Facebook to grow a small business is desired, including familiarity with Pages, Ads, Targeting and Billing. This position is full-time and located in our Sao Paulo office.

Required Skills:

  1. Drive Latam small business marketing strategy, partnering with the small business team (SMB Sales)

  2. Build trust and awareness of Facebook’s small business solutions

  3. Roll-out SMB brand voice across the region and across all channels and teams

  4. Infuse core SMB messaging in all communications across all channels

  5. Partner with Global SMB marketing counterparts to localize global programs

  6. Develop and activate Global SMB programs in the region, as relevant and pertinent to Latam SMB goals

  7. Develop champions of Facebook’s small business solutions in local communities across the country

  8. Build creative partnerships with local small business influencers and advocacy groups

  9. Teach and train small businesses on how to use Facebook to meet their marketing objectives

  10. Create and execute effective recruitment strategies

  11. Partner with team across Facebook to develop educational materials and support processes to compliment the advocacy programs

  12. Develop deep relationships with cross-functional partners to align against common goals, specifically PR, Policy and measurement teams, to influence the market at scale

  13. Engage directly with key opinion leaders and small business advocates and demonstrate our commitment to the community

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10 or more years of experience in marketing or related field

  2. Strong track record of hiring, developing and managing people

  3. Experience with Marketing Communications, and understanding of SMB audience and challenges broadly

  4. Experience developing and executing marketing strategies

  5. Experience developing plans to measure impact of efforts

  6. Understanding of direct response marketing models to scale programs

  7. Understanding of scaled channels and how to bring new ideas to market

  8. Understanding of diverse market landscape across Latam and ability to demonstrate tangible solutions that have successfully scaled across fragmented region in terms of languages, maturity & competitive landscape

  9. Ability to work within matrix organization to partner with variety of cross-functional stakeholders

  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  11. Confident presenter, with strong public speaking skills

  12. Public policy and/or international relations experience desired

  13. Fluency in English, Spanish desired

  14. Bachelor degree or equivalent
