Facebook Manager, Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington
As a Manager, you will lead a team of cross-functional hardware TPM’s to consistently deliver highly complex features predictably and efficiently, while maintaining high team morale. You will lead the team through planning requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders.
Manage a team of cross-functional hardware Technical Program Managers
Guide development of project schedules based on product requirements, technical challenges, and business needs
Manage communication within and between the research, software, hardware, systems and NPI teams
Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks
Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment
Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans as needed
Ensure project documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review
Engage with cross-functional teams to enable your team members to identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues, and to deliver global projects
Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently
Working with teams to leverage external resources
Coaching TPMs on how to utilize/manage internal and external resources
Up to 15% travel
5+ years experience as a program manager in a lead position shipping products in the consumer space
8+ years of experience managing teams
Direct experience shipping consumer hardware
Knowledge of development processes and best practices
Experience with project and issue tracking systems
Proven experience operating autonomously across multiple teams
Experience driving hardware and software research through product development.
Experience in research, incubation, or startups.
Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, optical engineers, and software engineers.
