Facebook Layout Designer in Redmond, Washington
As a Layout Designer at Oculus Research, you will layout the test and prototype electrical systems for future consumer virtual reality (VR) experiences. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas and are able to drive a design into a prototype.
We are looking for broad layout background, with experience on digital circuits and real-time systems using uControllers, uProcessors and FPGAs from simple to large. Familiarity with CAD tools like Altium is required. The ideal candidate would be comfortable laying out mixed high speed digital systems, power supplies and RF circuits.
Taking schematics from engineers and laying out circuits with appropriate constraints
Development of footprints to a common guidance
Provide stack and construction feedback to engineers
Generate and maintain CAD output packages for circuit designs
Develop, implement and support workflows and procedures for layout design and CAD output management
Liaise with board fabrication houses to provide the best choice of stack and materials to meet requirements
Coordination with assembly house to manage board builds
Collaborating in a team environment across engineering disciplines
5+ years of industry experience
Associate degree or similar
Experience in board design using Altium or equivalent
Layout experience in high speed differential circuits, power circuits, analogue and RF circuits
Layout experience in HDI rigid and flexible technologies
Experience in process evolution
Experience with SVN or similar version control
Experience managing libraries
Experience in constraint driven layout
Experience with schematic capture and the ability to reformat schematics to best practice guidelines
Experience with high power density/high thermal boards
