Facebook is seeking an experienced Cost Control Analyst to join our New Build Data Center Construction team. The New Build Cost Control Analyst must be experienced in cost reporting on large, highly complex construction projects. A successful candidate must be detail oriented, have experience working closely with general contractors and other project related vendors, managing cash flows in an enterprise database, and be able to report on cost trends and quickly identify potential cost related issues.
Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The New Build Cost Control Analyst will accumulate project cost data from multiple stakeholders, track and analyze the input in our electronic database, and general basic analysis for monthly reports that vital cost information needed for project managers and management to take proactive action during the construction phase of our data centers to ensure the projects stay within approved budgets.
Our data center projects are located across United States and globally. Managing stakeholders located across all these regions and time zones is a significant challenge and is key to the success of the projects.
Review and audit monthly pay applications from contractors and ensure costs are accurately billed per contract
Analyze project billings and monthly progress to estimate final outcome of project spend
Work with a team of vendors to produce an accurate picture of cash flow for multiple ongoing projects
Support project managers in negotiation of change orders by providing analysis of costs and overall project spend
Serve as a communication point between Facebook and vendors/General Contractors on cost and other financials
Maintain up-to-date cost information in e-Builder as a single source of information for other project stakeholders
Manage forecast, accrual and cost reporting for New Build program
Manage historical cost databases by inputting and tracking budgets, commitments, and invoices in an electronic cost database (e-Builder and Oracle)
Run reports for Project Management for monthly meetings and others as requested in Oracle or e-Builder
Reconcile transactions between e-Builder and Oracle to ensure both systems align
Work with accounting and payment processing teams to track the status of vendor payments
Raise help tasks to increase purchase order budgets as needed
Track the status of PO’s and close out when needed
Train others in the use of our electronic cost databases (e-Builder and Oracle)
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time domestically
BA/BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent degree with at least 7 years of commercial construction cost control/management experience
At least 5 years of Project Controls, Contract Administration, or Owner’s Side cost management experience
Experience analyzing construction cost data
Experience working with general contractors/suppliers to produce cost forecasts
Leadership or management experience
Experience in data centers, networking, cloud industry or related field
