Great virtual reality technology depends on advances in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. As a Computer Vision Engineer at Oculus, you'll be solving challenges at the forefront of technology that transforms virtual reality from dream to reality. We're looking for a creative engineer to usher in the next era of human-computer interaction by integrating computer vision and machine learning techniques into the expanding landscape of virtual reality.
Prototype hardware and software solutions for detecting, tracking, and modeling people.
Develop creative computer vision and tracking software for a variety of Oculus products and services.
Build novel real-time 3D scene reconstruction techniques for multi-view camera systems.
Research and prototype techniques and algorithms for multi-view object detection, pose estimation, segmentation, and recognition.
Contribute research that can be applied to Oculus product development.
Devise better data-driven models of human movement and behavior.
Develop robust software for integrating multiple sensors and tracking systems.
Perform research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, and other modalities).
Research and prototype techniques and algorithms for multiview object detection, pose estimation, segmentation, and recognition.
Attend computer vision conferences, and publish and present papers in international conferences and journals.
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in Computer Vision, Machine Learning or similar technical field.
Graduating with a PhD by December 2018, or completing a university postdoctoral assignment.
4+ years experience with C++.
4+ years experience in computer vision and machine learning.
Experience with computer vision/machine learning libraries such as OpenCV, MATLAB, and PyTorch.
Demonstrated experience with markerless 3D pose estimation and tracking of bodies, hands, and/or faces.
Prototyping experience including feature integration experience during all cycles of development.
Demonstrated knowledge of machine learning, Bayesian filtering, 3D geometry, and optical flow.
Demonstrated experience with structure from motion and multi-view camera systems.
Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2018.
