Summary:

Facebook is seeking an experienced video leader to help set strategy for news video on Facebook and drive partnership execution with publishers. This person should be fluent in the creative language of digital video and have experience building a digital video business.

The job will involve consulting with internal and external stakeholders around the role of news video on Facebook, and help set partners up for success with data-driven creative strategies. We are looking for someone with a strong point of view on digital video strategies, but who is flexible enough to work across a range of news organizations globally, from broadcasters to digital-first.

The goal of the News Partnerships team is to help publishers and journalists understand how to reach and engage their audiences, and to innovate with new technologies. The day-to-day responsibilities of the News Partnerships team include: manage relationships with news organizations; develop strategies and programs that foster greater collaboration and alignment between Facebook and news organizations; solicit and incorporate feedback from news organizations on product development and prioritization, and; clearly communicate and foster transparent dialogue with news organizations globally.

Required Skills:

  1. Oversee and manage the creation of News programming for Watch by leading news organizations

  2. Oversee and manage the expansion of News in Watch globally

  3. Support ongoing engagement with news organizations globally

  4. Be a strong voice within Facebook on the goals and priorities of news publishers around video News programming

  5. Support new product launches, and collaborate closely with Facebook product and engineering teams

  6. Serve as cross-functional leader, working with teams across the company

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree

  2. 8+ years of experience in news and media, with track-record and knowledge across the business

  3. Track record of building, initiating and driving new business and/or organizational opportunities

  4. Project management experience, with experience leading and executing multiple projects

  5. Experience thinking strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans

  6. Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
