We are looking for a Designer to help us go deeper on interaction and motion design. We want our experiences to feel alive and responsive, and we believe that this role can help our larger Video Team increase the quality of our products. This is not a pure execution role, we need someone who can help define our approach for motion, set standards, and help train other designers. As the first designer in this role for Video, there is the opportunity to design for Live, Watch Parties, our Video Players and so much more.
Discovery - Contribute in our design sprints to help define product strategy. This includes creating early concepts, storyboards, and prototypes to share ideas
Design - Translate both abstract and tactical requirements into finished designs. This includes creating the motion design approach and strategy, working closely with our design system's team, and validating designs with our product designers and researchers
Build - Create final designs with the engineering team, ensure high quality for launch, and develop new motion design workflows and processes to help other designers and projects
5+ years of experience working as a Motion Designer, UX Designer, Interaction Designer, Animator, or related discipline
Portfolio of shipping products that show motion as a part of UI and the experience. (this is not a marketing sizzle reel type of role)
Portfolio of early concepts, wireframes, prototypes, etc.
Portfolio of storyboarding ideas before final concepts
Portfolio of crafted motion design strategy like style guides, system guidelines, design frameworks, etc.
Portfolio of design decisions based on research and user feedback
Experience using motion graphic programs like After Effects, Final Cut Pro or equivalent
Experience teaching other designers
Experience in 3D applications like Cinema 4D, Z-Brush, Maya, 3D Studio Max or equivalent
