Facebook is building location-aware products for both business and consumers. These products help create meaningful interactions such as being able to find events nearby based on your interests, discovering friends who are nearby, geotagging your Instagram posts, showing a local guide when you're traveling, or providing foot traffic insights to both businesses and consumers to help them better understand good times to visit. The Location Infrastructure team is building the platform that powers Facebook's location-aware products and features in a privacy friendly way.

Technical Program Managers work horizontally to create long term value for Facebook by promoting the right technologies for productivity, product reliability and quality, and growth. You must have experience effectively collaborating both with external partners and cross-functional teams to present statistical and non-statistical data to drive results and go beyond execution. Analytical and communication skills and comfort with ambiguity are essential. This is a full-time position based in New York, NY.
Own metrics reporting by identifying trends in the data by performing statistical analyses to identify root causes.
Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant differences in relationships among sources of information.
Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy.
Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data.
Regularly report out progress, status, analyses (e.g. graphs, charts, and tables).
Collaborate with engineers to develop and test products using statistical analytical methods.
Manage and train teams of contingent workers who will be collecting and tabulating data.
Perform risk management and change management on projects.
Manage cross-functional programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas.
Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
Interface with Engineering and business owners for program requirements and scope.
Articulate the technology, requirements, goals and milestones of your team.
B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience with academic research-based statistics
Minimum 4 years of software engineering, systems engineering or equivalent experience, in addition to project/program management experience
Communication experience and experience working with technical management and statistical teams
Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience
Analytical, problem-solving, large-scale systems and writing code experience
Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience
Experience with Local products or location technologies.
Experience with working with data and statistics.
