Facebook Technical Program Manager, Instagram Infrastructure Lead in New York, New York

Summary:

Join a collaborative and passionate team working to bring people closer to the people and things they love. As a Technical Program Manager Lead for Infrastructure, you will play a critical role across product and engineering teams. You will work to identify key challenges faced with mobile and infrastructure engineering, and partner with product engineering Leads to drive programs that address these challenges. You will manage multiple Technical Program Managers within Infrastructure who help ensure Instagram can safely and reliably scale. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, knowledgeable in infrastructure development, passionate about infrastructure engineering, comfortable in a flat, fast moving organization, excited to collaborate, and focused squarely on impacting the Instagram engineering and product. This is a full-time position based in our New York or Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage and grow a set of individuals across multiple locations: Menlo Park, San Francisco, New York

  2. Handle diverse constituencies between product and engineering teams

  3. Drive developer efficiency initiatives across Instagram through the development and management of process

  4. Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions, and measure impact by defining meaningful metrics to meet company quality goals

  5. Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions

  6. Manage interfaces between Instagram and Facebook engineering

  7. Drive and maintain internal technology team roadmaps

  8. Interface with Engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience managing an organization of program managers, including building and growing the team

  2. 2+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, and People Manager

  3. 2+ years of experience in Program Management/Product Management

  4. Experience with infrastructure, cloud scale, big data, data infra (Hadoop, Ruby, Hive, Presto, etc.)

  5. Experience with mobile development

  6. Communication, coordination, and organizational experience

  7. Proven experience to work directly with technical engineering teams and senior management

  8. Leadership experience, with experience motivating and focusing collaboration to reach goals

  9. Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team

  10. Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems and experience writing code

  11. B.S. in a technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. M.S. in a technical discipline or MBA
