Summary:

Facebook is seeking a Strategy Planning & Operations Lead who can work effectively with Media Partnerships leadership to drive better business decisions. The role supports the Global News vertical lead that is responsible for Facebook's partnership with top content producers. We are looking for an expert in business strategy and operations, who uses an analytical, strategic, pragmatic, and results-oriented approach to drive success for partners and Facebook while being a trusted partner to the global vertical lead. The mission of the Global Strategy, Planning & Operations (SP&O) group is to maximize business performance by being the objective, trusted partner to the Media Partnerships organization – through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence. The role will entail analyzing market, partner and content performance on a regular basis, defining go-to-market strategy and programs, and leading planning across teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and consultative mindset, experience in working with stakeholders from business and technical backgrounds, the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment delivering against tight deadlines, and an interest for scaling operations.

Required Skills:

  1. Support management in strategic, operational planning and ensure decisions in line with overall Facebook approach and goals

  2. Establish operational excellence and ensure we have strong plans and KPIs in place at a vertical, regional, market and SPM level

  3. Develop and implement go-to-market strategies, e.g. for new markets, products, or org design

  4. Provide business analytic expertise (e.g. revenue, partner, market and competitive trends and insights) to help drive initiatives critical to ongoing growth

  5. Generate insights into both internal team and external market performance which includes vertical/sub-vertical/partner performance, product adoption, leading KPI indicators, goal vs. actuals

  6. Lead operational reviews and rhythm of the business to drive decision-making and review progress on vertical goals and priorities (e.g. monthly/quarterly business reviews)

  7. Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company and represent the Global Creative Strategy Lead with cross-functional teams

  8. Identify, scope and drive critical projects and initiatives partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization

  9. Stay on top of market trends and changes in the competitive landscape, and share appropriate insights with the team

  10. Frame and break down complex business problems into key components, design analysis to drive insights and answers to critical questions, and recommend practical solutions to get results

  11. Collect & analyze data, information, and research (e.g., market data, competitive analysis, etc.) through quantitative and qualitative mechanisms to make decisions on critical strategic issue

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree

  2. 7+ years of experience in strategic planning, sales operations, business operations, and/or strategy consulting

  3. Problem solving and analysis experience and experience driving projects from strategy to execution

  4. Experience developing or overseeing quantitative analysis and deriving insights

  5. Experience leading, influencing and executing at all cross-functional levels of an organization

  6. Communication experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in SQL
