Facebook is looking for a Content Standards & Practices Manager for our Watch product to review a variety of News and Entertainment programs at all stages of production and editing. The focus of this role is to ensure programming compliance with our Standards & Practices, as well as Facebook's Community Standards. The candidate will collaborate proactively with both original content producers and Facebook's own News Partnerships Team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing News with the highest journalistic integrity, be a dependable collaborator, and have an understanding of the Television News S&P landscape for both media networks and digital content.
This is a full-time position located in our New York Office.
Ensure News programs are fair, accurate and responsible.
Collaborate closely with our News Partnerships Team and Productions to manage feedback in all phases of show development and production.
Proactively work with show creators in the creation phase to develop creative solutions to ensure compliance with Facebook's Standards & Practices and Community Standards.
Provide feedback for scripts and/or cuts to teams internally and creative teams externally.
Manage inbound questions from producers, show creators, and writers during production or post-production.
Engage with external stakeholders on content issues.
Willingness to travel to set for production.
Willingness to address content issues relating to news integrity and other related S&P issues like to foul or derogatory language, graphic images, nudity, etc.
Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, or other related field
6+ years work experience in Television News as a Producer, Editor and/or Standards & Practices Executive
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve issues
Experience with negotiations and influencing mutually agreeable outcomes
Experience working with producers, cross-functional teams, colleagues and leadership
Experience spotting issues and problem solving
Experience managing priorities while delivering results
Experience driving innovation at every level
Experience in both hard and soft news magazine programming
Knowledge of the intellectual property and rights management landscape
Knowledge of Broadcast News Standards & Practices
Knowledge of Entertainment S&P (network and/or basic cable) and the Television Parental Guidelines
Advanced degree in Journalism, Communications, or other related field
