Come be part of the creative team at Facebook that is leading the industry in new ways to build advertising ideas in the rapidly changing media, mobile and marketing world. As a Motion Designer on the Design & Launch team within the Creative Shop you’ll leverage your visual craft skills to bring to life products, strategies, and ideas that will ultimately empower millions of small businesses to create high quality and effective advertising. You’ll have a dual citizenship on the Creative Shop where you will contribute to our efforts to inspire advertisers and you will partner with our product teams to showcase what is creatively possible within the boundaries of our product portfolio. You’ll partner with other designers, and strategists to develop working prototypes and visual examples that have the potential to inspire millions of businesses around the world to build ideas that connect with people. You have a deep passion for great advertising and a mastery of motion design, allowing you to apply your creativity to empower businesses around the world. You’re a builder, doer, and live to create ideas and transform them into visual mocks, prototypes, and marketing that will impact two billion plus people and millions of brands. We’re still only 1% done at Facebook – this team is inventing every day and it requires seeing opportunities and being fearless about making it happen. This is a full-time position located in our New York or Menlo Park offices.

Required Skills:

  1. Work hand-in-hand with Creative Strategists around the globe to concept and design ideas that can come to life across the Facebook Family of Apps and Services.

  2. Build captivating designs, including comps and wireframes that capture and convey ideas through animations and videos that will grab attention in the newsfeed.

  3. Work hand-in-hand with key cross-functional partners to create scalable best practices, playbooks, and assets that showcase creative ideas in our products.

  4. Partner with product management, product design, and product marketing teams to develop and release new products.

  5. Represent the Creative Shop and the needs of marketers in the strategic design-driven decisions connected to Facebook’s ad products.

  6. Build empathy within our product teams for the needs of small and medium businesses.

  7. Develop digitally scalable creative, including templates for videos, presentations, and material that will be distributed to hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of small businesses.

  8. Experiment with different creative techniques, tools, and mock up and prototype ideas quickly.

  9. Bring curiosity, grit, creativity, empathy, and passion every day to the team and this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Portfolio link on resume

  2. Bachelor's degree

  3. 3+ years of experience applying design to advertising, marketing or product design

  4. Experience working on projects such as storyboards, narrative, advertising campaigns, product and branding assignments

  5. Understanding of digital marketing and product roadmaps and how to build design driven collateral and strategies across multiple verticals

  6. Knowledge in building custom designs and animation via the Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator

  7. Experience building presentation-ready content in Keynote and PowerPoint

  8. Experience in film editing and editing techniques using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, and/or Avid

  9. Must be eligible to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience using Sketch

  2. Experience using prototyping programs like Origami Studio
