Facebook VR UX Engineer, Social VR in Menlo Park, California

As an engineer working on the Social VR Team at Facebook, you’ll be driving efforts to create interactive virtual reality experiences that provide creativity and social play experiences for people connecting through Facebook Spaces VR. These experiences will explore and define the future of online social interaction. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with games, VR/AR, or other 3D interactive industry background, with a desire for virtual reality and rapid iterative product development.

Required Skills:

  1. Architect efficient and reusable 2D and 3D UI system that drive complex VR applications

  2. Prototyping new interactions and features with an eye toward intuitive usability and feel

  3. Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing VR products

  4. Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  2. 3+ years experience in developing user interfaces in 3D applications

  3. Experience in 3D math, linear algebra, and techniques

  4. Demonstrated experience interfacing with other teams to incorporate their feedback and vice versa

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Virtual reality experience (Rift, Vive, Go, Gear VR, etc.)

  2. C++ and/or C# programming experience

  3. A combination of Windows, Android, and game console programming experience

  4. Unity 3D experience

  5. Experience in UX design or game design

  6. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments
