Summary:

As Facebook becomes the world’s largest, most sophisticated advertising platform — the go-to spot to promote a business — we're working to create meaningful connections between advertisers and potential customers. We're building effective, high-scale sales and support channels by creating products that advertisers find valuable and reliable, and we’re looking for a seasoned researcher to help us do this even better!

Required Skills:

  1. Create research roadmaps to deliver on the team’s goals, and business objectives, and identify future opportunities

  2. Work across multiple researchers to drive cohesion across roadmaps

  3. Design and execute generative and evaluative research to support the objectives of the business, and translate those research findings into actionable insights for the team and the org

  4. Employ creative and innovative research methods to understand people and their needs

  5. Be the expert on our customers and users, and represent their voice to internal teams

  6. Utilize facilitative leadership to collaborate with other disciplines (Engineering, Product Management, Product design, Data Science, Product Marketing, etc.), teams, and organizations

  7. Communicate effectively and in an engaging manner to drive action and inspire new ideas

  8. Evangelize insights within your team, across teams, and outside the org where appropriate

  9. Coach and mentor others

  10. Contribute to improve the broader research community

  11. Travel to conduct research

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master's or PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Psychology, or related field

  2. 7+ years of experience in applied product research and 3+ years of experience with user experiences, such as enterprise or ads

  3. Knowledge of methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative methods, including different research methodologies and how to apply them

  4. Proven experience of leading strategic research and setting a customer-back vision for experiences, then influencing teams to take action and impacting the business

  5. Communication and story-telling experience

  6. Experience with user-centered design best practices

  7. Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product Design, Data Science/Analytics, and Marketing and involving them in the research process

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in domains of advertising, sales or support
