As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within infrastructure engineering, driving huge projects that span the organization. Our team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. Facebook's infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same. This is a full-time position based in our office in Menlo Park and will report to the Director of Technical Program Management.
Manage cross-functional infrastructure software engineering programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas.
Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
You will build processes that don't currently exist, and help build infrastructure.
Perform risk management and change management on projects.
Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
Interface with Engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope.
Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives.
B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum of four years of software engineering, systems engineering or similar experience, in addition to at least two years of project/program management experience.
Experience with external facing production systems for traffic websites and services.
Experience working at scale, and with 24x7 production operations.
Communication experience working with technical management teams.
Knowledge in infrastructure and development area.
Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team.
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems and writing code.
Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience.
Experience with visual backgrounds such as computer graphics.
