As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within infrastructure and product engineering, driving large-scale projects that span the organizations. Our team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. Facebook's infrastructure is constantly redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same. This is a full-time position based in our main office in Menlo Park and will report to the Group Manager of Technical Program Management.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage cross-functional infrastructure software engineering programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas

  2. Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery

  3. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases

  4. Build processes that don't currently exist and help build infrastructure to scale them

  5. Perform risk management and change management on projects

  6. Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks

  7. Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions

  8. Interface with Engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope

  9. Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

  2. 4+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or similar experience, in addition to at least two years of project/program management experience

  3. Experience with building and launching production systems for websites and services

  4. Experience with driving infrastructure and client-side scale, performance and initiatives

  5. Experience with working at scale, and with 24x7 production operations

  6. Knowledge to the infrastructure and development area

  7. Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams

  8. Organizational and coordination experience along with multi-tasking capabilities to get things done in an environment

  9. Experience motivating and focusing collaboration to reach challenging goals

  10. Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team such as Product Management, Engineering, and Partnerships

  11. Analytical and problem-solving experience to systems and experience writing code

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Web or Internet start-up environment and technical product/program management experience

  2. Experience planning, launching, and operating new products or live events
