Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA-style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships in universities, small and large businesses. The Product Launch Team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs and delivering them to market at scale. Building 8 seeks a System Test Engineering Architect who has experience building both reliable and scalable automation solutions, delivering high quality consumer electronics user experiences. We are looking for a slightly impatient individual willing to face down their fear of failure to accomplish bold things. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.
The technical lead for QA test strategies that fit overall Building 8 and Facebook strategy.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery based on those strategies.
Collaborate with Software, Product and Hardware teams to gather product specification and requirements and to build production validation strategies.
Effectively communicate product quality status to peers and the leadership team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in QA leadership role.
Experience in delivery and commercialization in the consumer electronics industries.
NPI experience and/or a demonstrated experience shipping first-of products.
Communication experience, with a track record of working with Development Engineering.
Experience creating test harnesses and infrastructure.
Ability to write code & scripts to drive test systems.
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
Knowledge and experience with test methodologies, drafting test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.
