Summary:

Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA-style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships in universities, small and large businesses. The Product Launch Team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs and delivering them to market at scale. Building 8 seeks a System Test Automation Engineer who has experience building both reliable and scalable automation solutions, delivering high quality consumer electronics user experiences. We are looking for a slightly impatient individual willing to face down their fear of failure to accomplish bold things. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Design, build, and maintain test automation solutions that is robust and scalable.

  2. Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose testing coverage changes.

  3. Be the advocate for testability, drive best engineering practices and defect prevention.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Experience developing test automation in C++, Java, or Python.

  3. Experience debugging in Windows, Linux, MAC, and Android.

  4. Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience building and launching consumer electronics products.

  2. Knowledge and experience with test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.
