Summary:

Facebook seeks an experienced, highly motivated team player to help manage and coordinate Facebook’s work involving IP enforcement in the domain and mobile app arena and related domain name system activities. Candidates should have expertise in IP enforcement broadly and domains and mobile app enforcement and abuse mitigation specifically, and have proven ability to research domain and app-based infringement to identify and correlate bad actors and perform early enforcement activities such as take down requests. Candidates also should have deep experience developing and managing operations and processes for high-volume IP enforcement efforts and case management. They also should have excellent communication and analytical skills and share our vision of giving people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage domain and app enforcement processes, including coordinating internally with various teams and managing and coordinating outside vendors

  2. Manage domain and app escalated enforcement projects to help drive corrective action, including initiatives to achieve high volume abuse mitigation objectives

  3. Coordinate data gathering and research initiatives involving the launch, use and abuse of apps, domains, and other Internet identifiers, to support team’s objectives

  4. Support Facebook’s domain name portfolio and Facebook’s domain name registration infrastructure

  5. Help turn operational experiences into effective global strategies to improve DNS and Internet infrastructure standards, policies and services

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree

  2. 5+ years of IP and domain name and/or app enforcement experience, including experience researching domain-based and app-based infringement to identify and correlate bad actors and perform early enforcement activities such as take-down requests

  3. Experience with Internet abuse mitigation processes and protocols

  4. Experience with domain name registration pipeline, including security requirements and protocols

  5. Experience managing and coordinating internal and external staff on projects

  6. Experience with DNS (especially registrar and registry) business processes, domain name and mobile app operations, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  7. Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders

  8. Experience exercising business judgment and tactical thinking

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience at a registrar or registry, or as a client of a brand protection service provider

  2. Experience with DNS technology and issues such as WHOIS, Port 43, RDAP, EPP, DNS servers

  3. Experience with ICANN and DNS policies, as well as tactics for addressing domain-based abuse

  4. Experience managing workload with minimal supervision, and experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders

  5. Experience working in a multi-cultural, global environment

  6. Experience adapting to changing circumstances and dealing with ambiguity
