Facebook Product Design Lead in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale that define new categories which advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world and deliver value to its billions of users. The B8 team breakthrough ideas at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships within and outside of Facebook.

Facebook's Building 8 team is looking for an experienced Product Design leader to help shape our product strategy. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead designers in developing deep insights about user behavior, and innovative product ideas

  2. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to drive world-class product designs

  3. Develop best practices to ensure that designs get built with high fidelity and quality

  4. Actively contribute as a designer on products

  5. Recruit new designers and actively participate in the hiring process

  6. Execute in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a management or leadership role leading teams in hardware and software design

  2. Minimum 5 years of design experience shipping hardware and software products

  3. Design portfolio with examples of interaction and visual design across web and mobile applications

  4. Experience in high-level product strategy all the way to production

  5. Experience with design tools
