Facebook is seeking a mid-level Program Manager to manage and support our Infrastructure Facilities Operations (FacOps) team in both automating core business functions through tool creation and evolving core FacOps tools to best support facilities operations and maintenance at our global data centers. The specific role is intended to provide day-to-day management and solutioning to optimize operations at our DCs specific to maintenance work management, asset tracking, incident reporting, and all other facilities O&M functions. The effort will involve problem identification, process automation, solutioning, capability/software evaluations, and making recommendations on technology solutions that best support FacOps. We are seeking someone that can effectively interface with engineering SMEs on technology development, and DC staff globally on business process and requirement definition.
We are looking for a strong PM that can manage technical delivery to ensure business requirements are met on time, brainstorm possible solutions between engineers and end-users, and act as an advocate for a globally dispersed team across the DCs. The position is based in our main office in Menlo Park, CA and will require up to 25% travel primarily to global DCs.
Staying abreast of current and emerging technologies being leveraged to support facility operations including but not limited to CMMS applications
Accountable for brainstorming solutions and internal capability development technology from concept to global rollout
Accountable to manage and oversee day-to-day operations for development of capabilities including hosting recurring meetings, set agendas, capturing meeting minutes, plan and execute against a project schedule tracking program task to completion and reporting/mitigating program risk
Champion for the program accountable to develop and execute against tooling roadmaps to maximize impact to users and allow FacOps to scale to the demands on FB Infrastructure by obtaining the resources required to deliver against objectives
Managing a portfolio of capabilities at varying levels of maturity and automation
Work closely across cross-functional teams within Infrastructure (e.g. logistics, networks, servers, etc.) to understand external dependencies and mitigate delivery risk
Provide hands-on program management during analysis (problem identification, requirement definition), design (solutioning, architecting), development, testing (hands-on tool testing), and delivery (roll out and user engagement) phases
Manage expectations of all interested parties - define clear program with key deliverable and milestone dates. Use multiple communication channels for providing program updates to various stakeholders. Identify and communicate risks and adjustments to the overall program
Foster a culture of data driven decision making
Drive towards problem resolution despite ambiguity or uncertainty
Build relationships, gain consensus, remove tension/roadblocks and focus on the solution
Collect, analyze, and present data (e.g. performance metrics) to enable informed decisions
Be independent and thorough in examination and analysis, alongside results oriented
Able to travel (including international travel)
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
6+ years work experience in Technical/Operational Project Management which include developing and executing against strategic initiative roadmaps, process improvement/automation, and capability development
2+ years experience either writing code or managing technical delivery via Agile methodologies
1+ years experience supporting Infrastructure & Data Center teams
1+ years experience with process or technology integration at a global scale
Proven risk management, inter-personal, and communication experience
Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners across an organization and geographies
Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience with a focus under pressure
Organizational and time management experience with proven experience in executing on multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience in Microsoft Office including Visio, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
