The Infrastructure Services and Operational Support team designs, implements and continuously evolves systems and processes to support all aspects of deployment and operations. In this role, you will work closely with Facebook Data Center Connectivity (DCC), Edge & Network Services (ENS), software engineers, and external vendors to devise technical solutions for business problems and own delivery from concept to creation. The Operations Project Manager will support Facebook global network deployments, operations, and tooling. The program will support the growth, management, and upkeep of various team initiatives.
This position will be located in Menlo Park, California, with limited travel required.
Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices and drive internal software product improvements across multiple teams and functions
Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases of software
Lead/support all business readiness activities including training, testing and rollout
Work independently with minimal supervision
Conduct business process re-engineering reviews to innovate on business processes and define ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness
Elicit detailed business requirements by engaging the business to capture clear functional design artifacts using techniques like use cases, data diagrams, and process flow diagrams
Conceptualize, build, and maintain tools and automation in support of network deployment and maintenance
Work with partner network engineering teams to iterate and drive improvement in existing tools and systems
Draft detailed technical documentation in support of tooling and automation
Identify areas of risk and drive mitigation with subject matter experts within the organization
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
3+ years of work experience in Project Management with a demonstrated track record of delivering business value using technology solutions in high-tech operations space
Work experience in product management/development building scalable platforms, driving enterprise tooling initiatives, and translating strategic initiatives into software product roadmaps
Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience with focus under pressure
Experience collaborating with different individuals across external organizations, within other geographies, and "roll-up the sleeves" in order to accomplish all necessary tasks
Interpersonal experience including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team
