Summary:

Materials Manager is responsible for readiness, execution, and delivery of all NPI xVT builds to support hardware products for Facebook Data Centers. This function requires strong understanding of NPI product release process, principles and practices of purchasing, supplier management, materials requirements planning, and ability to work under minimal supervision. In this role, the candidate will work closely with Sourcing Managers, Manufacturing Quality Engineers, TPM’s & HW Engineering product teams aligning commodity & sourcing strategies with product requirements, supporting TCO analysis, initiating tasks for purchase request, interface with suppliers on build and ship plans, support BOM accuracy activities, amongst other responsibilities as outlined.

Required Skills:

  1. Act as the primary liaison between ODM and Facebook teams monitoring, managing and driving the ODM to assure build goals/schedule is being met

  2. Work cross-functionally to develop and manage product BOM and cost

  3. Alignment of NPI BOM’s to AVL and commodity technologies

  4. Complete TCO analysis to ensure project cost are meeting or beating cost objectives

  5. Communicate forecast and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective

  6. Propose and execute solutions to eliminate shortages impacting build and ship schedules

  7. Interactions involve strategic and tactical procurement activities in a global environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain

  2. 3+ years of supply chain/materials experience in NPI environment

  3. Knowledge of EMS/ODM/JDM/OEM business models, consignment & turnkey materials management, cost modeling, supply chain design, and reverse logistics

  4. Demonstrated experience to drive a plan to bring resolution to differing opinions, reach out across functional boundaries to drive collaboration and share credit in a team environment

  5. Experience using Agile BOM management tools

  6. Experience working with Asia based suppliers

  7. Experience and knowledge with hardware design
