Summary:

The EE Platforms Infrastructure teams interact with a broad array of internal business, product and FB partners to deliver a common, scalable and secure mix of infrastructure and services. Managing a Platforms Infrastructure team requires a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of technologies, a focus on growing and developing the skills and talents of your team, and a relentless drive to focus on high-value projects and to prioritize ruthlessly.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage engineers working with our Data Center, Backbone, Hardware and Software networking teams to build, scale, deploy and support our global network infrastructure

  2. Help define, and drive regular development of an aggressive technical roadmap to meet the needs of the team, and partner teams

  3. Be a hands-on manager with deep technical experience in networking, systems and software

  4. Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, re-prioritize as needed

  5. Manage engineers to strengths, enable, unblock, and grow talent through coaching and technical mentoring

  6. Pro-actively identify resource needs, participate in recruiting efforts, and hiring to grow the team

  7. Identify, cultivate and grow technical leaders

  8. Responsible for people management of a team of 5+ engineers, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years experience managing an engineering team

  2. 4+ years Software Engineering or Scripting experience with Python, Perl, Go, or Ruby

  3. 4+ years experience working with routers and switches

  4. 5+ years of Networking, System Administration or Software Engineering experience

  5. 4+ years of experience working with networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, etc.

  6. Experience designing and maintaining servers, or network equipment

  7. B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience automating device configuration and management

  2. 4+ years of experience in Linux system administration

  3. Device configuration and administration automation experience
