Summary:

Facebook is seeking a Manager, Infrastructure Engineering to join our RTP (Release to Production) team. This team is responsible for the Hardware Lifecycle of all Facebook servers including pre-production validation, hands-on system debugging, stress testing, enabling production-ready monitoring, automated provisioning and automated remediation of issues. RTP Engineers work closely with hardware designers, system manufacturers, component vendors, capacity engineering, production engineering, Facebook services, and data center operations teams to test systems before release to our production data centers, and to track the health and lifecycle of servers in production. This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Lead a team of engineers committed to manage and scale the largest web capacity in the world.

  2. Be both technically hands-on and people manager.

  3. Work with Hardware Design, Application teams, Service teams and Data Center teams to find the optimal way to scale the infrastructure.

  4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.

  5. Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts.

  6. Interface with external vendors and internal hardware, mechanical, power, thermal, manufacturing and software engineers to understand system architecture required for hardware deployment.

  7. Develop strategies to detect and diagnose hardware/firmware/software health issues across Facebook infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  2. Minimum of 5 years of direct management experience in a technology company or experience as a technical lead and experience in formal project management or business training.

  3. Experience in changing system configurations and measuring change impact.

  4. Analytical, budgeting and planning experience.

  5. Interpersonal and communication experience.

  6. Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Enterprise server hardware experience

  2. Experience in programming and/or tooling development in cloud environment
