In honoring our hacker roots and challenging convention we build the technical foundation of Facebook. Facebook is looking to expand its existing team focused on internal network engineering.

A Network Manager for Enterprise Network Engineering will have responsibility to manage folks who are designing, deploying and managing the global enterprise network on a variety of cutting-edge platforms. A candidate must have a strong technical background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong communication skills – a visionary who challenges the status quo and believes that collaboration technologies can level-up productivity.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage engineers working with our Campus, Data Center, Backbone, Hardware, and Software networking teams to build, scale, deploy, and support our global network infrastructure

  2. Responsible for people management of a team of 5+ engineers, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports

  3. Help define and drive regular development of an aggressive technical roadmap to meet the needs of the team and partner teams

  4. Be a hands-on manager with deep technical experience in networking, systems, and software

  5. Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, and reprioritize as needed

  6. Manage engineers by encouraging strengths and growing talent through coaching and technical mentoring

  7. Proactively identify resource needs, including participating in recruiting efforts and hiring to grow the team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience

  2. 5+ years of Networking or Software Engineering experience

  3. 4+ years experience managing an engineering team

  4. 4+ years of experience working with networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, etc.

  5. 4+ years experience working with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches

  6. 4+ years Software Engineering or Scripting experience with Python, Perl, Go, or Ruby

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience designing and maintaining servers or network equipment

  2. Device configuration and administration automation experience
