At Oculus, we’re developing the future of augmented reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) & mixed reality (MR). We are currently seeking a Head of Core Tech Quality who has experience building quality as an integral part of Core Tech development from an end-user standpoint, advocating for user perceived quality.

Core Tech is a part of Oculus tasked with delivering cutting edge new technologies for Oculus. The organization is focused on defining the technologies as well as new user experiences those technologies enable.

As the Head of Core Tech Quality, you will define the vision and strategy and own the execution of how Quality is considered, implemented and built into the Core Tech development lifecycle from inception to delivery in a product.You will be responsible for recruiting, leading, managing and motivating a team of quality professionals.

The team should thrive in an environment of fast-paced iteration of unique technologies and being highly collaborative in a cross-functional setting that shape upcoming products and technologies through definition, monitoring and advocating for user perceived quality. You will ensure that the next generation technologies are delivered with the highest quality, representing the voice of the customer within the Core Tech Organization as well as cross-functionally.

Required Skills:

  1. Build a strong QA function in Core Tech.

  2. Lead all functional, manual and automation QA personnel in Core Tech.

  3. Architect, design and build the necessary infrastructure to create and run manual and automated tests (including regression testing) for new and existing features.

  4. Partner in product and technology requirement definition to ensure user and system quality are properly represented.

  5. Work closely with teams within the Core Tech organization as well as other organizations to define QA engagement in technology development and roadmaps.

  6. Learn and implement latest in QA technologies and tools.

  7. Evangelize QA best practices throughout the organization.

  8. Adopt a metrics/KPI driven approach to measuring and improving quality by setting, monitor and achieve software performance metrics as they related to user perceived quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of management experience in competitive analysis, managing automation and manual QA engineers working on testing technologies at the intersection of tech and product, including building high performing teams and organizations.

  2. User advocate, collaborator, and experience managing cross-team and cross-geography collaboration, and experience managing by influence.

  3. Demonstrated domain knowledge product quality and testing methodologies with a proven track record in testing and shipping technologies and products.
