Facebook Head of Building 8 Partnerships in Menlo Park, California


Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA- style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development.

Part of the broader AR/VR organization at Facebook, the Building 8 Partnerships team has the responsibility of accelerating product roadmaps and helping build amazing user experiences via partners. We are seeking a leader with creativity, technical expertise and business acumen to help.

This individual will have successfully led complex, first of their kind hardware, platform, and content deals for successful and ubiquitous platform. She/he will have a deep familiarity with products from a core technology perspective and has been intimately involved in setting product direction. They will be a self-starter who is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and takes a proactive and strategic approach to business development.

Required Skills:

  1. Think holistically and define partnerships to drive hardware, content and developer ecosystems for first-of-their-kind hardware products

  2. Model, negotiate and close complex deals encompassing new business models and go-to-market strategies

  3. Represent Building 8 in meetings with executives from other companies

  4. Work cross-functionally in a matrixed BD and corporate structure

  5. Build small team of business development professionals over time

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 12+ years of work experience in partnerships and product.

  2. Commercial experience in hardware and software services.

  3. Global Business Development experience.

  4. Experience working in a cross-functional environment.

  1. Strategic mindset and can think across all aspects of structuring and executing on a deal.

  2. Test-and-learn mentality.

  3. Excited to learn from mistakes and course correct as necessary.
