Our team builds cutting-edge technology to detect, track and transform people in AR. Our technology runs in Instagram, Facebook, Camera, Messenger, and other product and infra surfaces. Among other initiatives, we own the best in class face tracking and background segmentation tech, which runs across a wide variety of mobile devices and hardware stacks.
Through our work, someone can completely transform and transport themselves. With the touch of a button in a camera app, you can become a character from a movie, or mermaid relaxing on the ocean floor; you can take an artistic photograph or video of yourself, or use the high fidelity face tracker to try on makeup from real brands you can buy in the store. For creators, we supply a suite of intuitive, yet powerful tools through AR Studio, and work to help them build almost any “people”-centric AR experience they can imagine.
Design, develop and maintain high quality interactive image processing tech and/or rendering effects
Research, analyze competition, prototype and implement image processing and graphics pipelines, understanding both the theory and performance-tuned optimizations
Profiling and optimization of CPU and GPU
Having a mindset for performance, memory, and concurrency
Taking a data-driven approach to technical solutions
Collaborate and support engineers, designers and artists to create high quality visual experiences with efficient production workflows
Document technology recommendations and implementation details
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
4+ years experience in interactive computer graphics related roles, using C/C++
Knowledge in the application of 3D math, rendering algorithms, and data structures
Knowledge in shader development, debugging and profiling (e.g. GLSL, HLSL, Cg)
GPU and CPU debugging and optimization experience
Experience with modern graphics APIs (e.g. OpenGL, DirectX, Metal, Vulkan)
Solid understanding of GPU architectures, and multi-platform development experience (e.g. PC, mobile, or game consoles)
Experience with Objective C/Swift and/or Java
Low-level knowledge and experience (e.g. assembly, SIMD)
Experience with 2D image editing tools (Photoshop) and 3D modeling/animation tools (Maya, 3D Studio, Blender)
Understanding of 3D rendering engines (e.g. Unity 3D, Unreal Engine, CryEngine)
Able to dive into complex systems and get results quickly
