Summary:

Facebook is seeking an Equipment and Material Management Lead to join our Global Data Center Facility Operations team. The Equipment and Material Management Lead will work with data center facility operations teams to establish and optimize processes needed to best support coordinated operations and maintenance of our operational data centers globally. Candidates will need to be experienced in engineering and operational disciplines and diverse industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution and cooling technologies. They will also need to be experienced in leading efforts to optimize material maintenance plans, identifying critical spares, managing material obsolescence, assess and evaluate operational risk, and evaluating equipment performance.

Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our servers and software operates to meet the demands of our customers. This position is full-time and will be based at the corporate headquarters in Menlo Park.

Required Skills:

  1. Support Improvement in equipment and maintenance management strategies and processes.

  2. Lead evaluation of preventive maintenance plans and strategies.

  3. Evaluate risk to critical operations for associated maintenance strategies.

  4. Develop and manage a system for tracking equipment through its full lifecycle, this includes tracking of obsolescence, warranty and recall information, firmware updates, etc.

  5. Manage process for development of critical spares requirements for existing and new equipment.

  6. Lead cross communications with management, peers and adjacent operating teams, ensuring global operational consistency of all Facebook owned data centers.

  7. Generate clear problem statements/gap analysis of material maintenance or equipment management processes and procedures.

  8. Establish key performance and progress measurements.

  9. Ability to support approximately 35% travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of management of technology operations, including direct experience managing maintenance programs for mission critical operations

  2. Experience in project and change management

  3. Experience in drafting process and procedural protocols and standards

  4. Experience with CMMS, inventory management, and maintenance

  5. Experience in engaging senior stakeholders and run multiple engagement teams concurrently across multiple global locations

  6. Experience in making decisions and working with minimal direction

  7. Track record of thinking strategically and executing tactically

  8. Experience using failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) or similar risk evaluation processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. BS in Engineering

  2. Knowledge and understanding of data center power and cooling infrastructure

  3. Ability to lead in a fast paced, hands-on environment

  4. Ability to drive continuous improvement in operational and business processes

  5. Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma, certified Black Belt & lean practitioner
