Facebook's Building 8 is seeking a results-driven Ecosystem Content Strategy Manager who is passionate and knowledgeable about leading edge media technologies and demonstrably capable of driving the content acquisition and media operations strategy for an innovative home consumer device. This position requires a blend of technical and business skills, with a focus on creative, strategic thinking with cross-functional knowledge and experience to effectively work across our Product, Engineering, Business Development, Partnerships, Marketing and Legal teams. The position is contract and based in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Working with management, develop and drive ecosystem content initiatives with the objective of identifying and on-boarding content sources that deliver differentiated end user value

  2. In collaboration with Developer Marketing, establish the content partner value proposition and analyze data to prioritize content selection optimized for the platform’s target audience

  3. Specify operational requirements for managing large third-party content libraries and deploying rich user experiences on the platform

  4. Develop workflow strategies for content distribution and drive cross-functional commitments and inter-organizational processes in support of delivering an outstanding platform experience

  5. Provide input on SDK, tools and infrastructure requirements to Product Management and Engineering and act as the voice of the content partner in justifying and prioritizing them

  6. In collaboration with Legal, determine partner agreement terms and review and contribute to the drafting of contract templates, advise Business Development and Legal on partner negotiations

  7. Maintain direct and active relationships with content and ecosystem partners, including proactively resolving business, technical, and policy issues and serving as their internal advocate

  8. Represent Facebook in external meetings with executives, both internally and externally at content and ecosystem partner companies

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  2. 10+ years of experience combining technical experience (product development, product management), product marketing and ecosystem partner management in consumer technology companies delivering interpersonal digital and media experiences

  3. 5+ years of experience working with media companies, including experience with content formats, content management systems, content distribution and syndication, application user experience, rights management, monetization and analytics

  4. Experience with application ecosystems, SDKs (software development kits) and developer tools

  5. Knowledge of the application development process, UX design principles, and how product requirements are established and prioritized

  6. Track record of innovation leadership companies

  7. Experience defining, developing and leading programs

  8. Organizational, communication and analytical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA

  2. Familiarity with Facebook platforms, priorities, organizational culture

  3. Rapid learner comfortable with ambiguity and unstructured work environments

  4. Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills – capable of developing effective working relationships with all functional groups and all levels of management, both inside and outside Facebook
