Summary:

Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as its Law Enforcement Outreach Regional Director based in the United States. The position will be responsible for managing the Northern & Latin American regional team in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with law enforcement authorities, government agencies with an Internet safety and security focus and related industry coalitions. The position will also oversee tactical responses to events related to the law enforcement community in the Americas. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This position is a full-time role located in Menlo Park, California and would entail frequent travel in the US and other locations overseas.

Required Skills:

  1. Manage and lead the regional team to develop and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities

  2. Work closely with the legal and public policy teams on engagement with law enforcement authorities, regulators and legislators on online safety, security and law enforcement issues

  3. Design and execute regional strategic outreach plan

  4. Plan and execute educational programs for law enforcement authorities on our policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests

  5. Oversee the development and execution of policies relating to the processing of legal requests from law enforcement authorities

  6. Coordinate with internal investigation teams to develop and refer relevant matters to law enforcement authorities

  7. Work closely with Facebook’s Legal Team and Law Enforcement Response teams in managing responses to governmental requests for data

  8. Work with internal teams and global safety organizations to develop and enhance safety awareness and other safety related issues in the world

  9. Support launches and different initiatives being driven across platforms

  10. Travel within the region

  11. Respond to and support emergency matters on a global team

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree

  2. 15+ years of experience working with law enforcement authorities at an international level

  3. Experience with cyber crime and online investigations

  4. Experience in processing legal documents (e.g., civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders and search warrants)

  5. Experience with American legal systems relating to law enforcement requests for data

  6. Experience working with data protection authorities and regulators, financial institutions, and Internet industry associations

  7. Presentation experience

  8. Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prosecution or criminal investigation background or experience in a similar Internet safety and security role

  2. Fluency in additional language(s)

  3. Experience in a fast paced, start-up culture
