The Demand Manager will act as the primary contact for network hardware demand plans which support Facebook’s mass production builds at its Data Centers, POPs, and FNA locations globally. As a Demand Manager, you will be responsible for developing business processes, reports, and automated tools to support the demand planning and forecasting activities. This position is part of the Sourcing and Operations Engineering team and is based at our Menlo Park office reporting to the Manager of Network Hardware & Planning Ops.
Own demand planning and forecasting for all Network Hardware
Develop short and long-term supply and demand models that seeks to maintain service levels to partners and customers worldwide
Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models, processes and software tools) in creating forecasts and respective inventory targets
Present Supply and Demand recommendations to leadership, drive timely decisions, and ensure clear and concise communication to all stakeholders in the supply chain, based on demand planning scenarios, business forecast and New Product Introductions
Lead forecast and inventory planning meetings with Network Hardware Sourcing Managers, reviewing recommended demand forecasts and inventory goals
Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management by defending recommendations with sound models and logic
Drive product success by keeping ourselves and others accountable for metrics such as inventory, excess and obsolescence (E&O), material spend
Work across various Hardware TPM and Network Engineering groups to ensure forecast and S&OP inputs are consistent
Support development of new, and enhancements to existing, tools and automations to support scale
BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of experience in Supply or Demand planning and execution
Experience in demand forecasting, inventory optimization and supply planning
MBA/Masters in a related field
Experience in project management
Understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain Management processes (scheduling, warehousing, fulfillment, reverse logistics)
Ability to collaborate across various levels of an organization, with experience in leading cross-functional process improvements
Demonstrated ability to work towards strategic business goals
Analytical, problem solving and communication skills
