Facebook designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Locating, developing and managing this data center infrastructure the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility and capital and operational cost efficiency. Facebook is seeking an experienced, organized and outgoing Site Selection Portfolio Manager to join the Data Center Site Selection team and help manage its rapidly scaling leased data center property portfolio.

A strong Site Selection Portfolio Manager candidate has experience negotiating large or complex deals and a strong knowledge of the legal agreements that accompany them and, more specifically, will have a background leading data center leasing efforts. The Site Selection Portfolio Manager has a keen ability to think both strategically and analytically, develop out-of-the box solutions and can navigate the challenges that accompany leasing projects and portfolios of large magnitude. This position is full-time and located in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Serve as the day-to-day owner for Facebook's executed wholesale data center and warehouse lease agreements.

  2. Evaluate and develop updated terms in data center and warehouse lease agreement templates on an ongoing basis to reflect leading edge commercial and other agreement terms.

  3. Drive and coordinate lease and other agreement amendments in response to changes in business need, improvements in business terms or processes, and/or feedback from Engineering teams in the field.

  4. Partner with Site Selection Managers to negotiate letters of intent, lease agreements, service agreements, and other facility-specific agreements.

  5. Partner with internal organizations including capacity planning, site selection managers, energy teams, data center design, construction, network engineering, legal, policy, communications and finance, to align on key business terms.

  6. Process contracts and agreements for internal approval and signature.

  7. Develop portfolio management metrics and tools and tracking mechanisms (SLAs, supplier performance, financial) and interact with external lease management companies.

  8. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25% at times).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a business, paralegal studies, or technical discipline

  2. 4+ years of experience in leased data center site selection, accounting, finance, contract management, and/or development of data centers or other large-scale or mission critical capital programs

  3. Experience with negotiations, including contract formation and contract negotiations

  4. Experience with representing business interests to the leadership of suppliers, utilities, governments and other stakeholders

  5. Experience with managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff, consultants, vendors and external stakeholders

  6. Organizational experience

  7. Excel and PowerPoint and/or Keynote experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in contracts management and understanding of leases, experience with data center leases
