Each year Facebook hosts F8, our annual conference where developers and businesses come together to explore the future of technology and learn how Facebook connects the world through new products and innovation. The event includes keynotes where leadership shares our vision for Facebook, sessions that dive into technology and developer-related topics, interactive experiences and demo floor, and the opportunity to network with developers from all around the world and meet one-on-one with members of the Facebook team.

Facebook is seeking a Marketing Manager to support F8 program management and content development to help bring our company and the technology we are building to life. As an F8 Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for a set of Facebook products and will manage their F8 experience – from session program strategy to show floor experience – to create a cohesive narrative for the product and event across all touch points. You will work with product teams (PM), product marketing managers (PMM), and communication managers throughout the company on messaging and content strategy to ensure an inspiring, informative and coherent F8 experience.

The ideal candidate is passionate about our company and our technology, can contribute to strategy discussions while also digging into the project management weeds to organize your products, and can build effective relationships across the organization. This person thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, enjoys working across a number of teams to pull together cohesive narratives and cares deeply about technology and innovation. They should have demonstrated experience working in complex cross-functional organizations and exhibit excellent skills in project management, communication, brand and product positioning, as well as creative marketing. This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in Menlo Park.

Required Skills:

  1. Contribute to the development of the session program strategy for F8.

  2. Work with product, product marketing, and communications teams across the company to develop a shared overarching narrative and a bridge to product announcement communications.

  3. Plan, coordinate and project manage the development of sessions across the company for F8.

  4. Facilitate, plan, coordinate and project manage the development of the product experience on the show floor at F8.

  5. Tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset and create thoughtful recommendations by being the voice of the developer and consumer on how to bring our messages to market.

  6. Partner closely with cross-functional teams across the company, including product, marketing, policy, communications, legal, design, and more.

  7. Demonstrate strong understanding of the broader Facebook ecosystem and competitive landscape.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree

  2. 3+ years work experience in marketing, product marketing or product management in the Internet and/or technology space

  3. Experience with B2B and/or B2C marketing, including online and events

  4. Experience working in matrix and cross-functional organizations

  5. Experience partnering with product management and engineering organizations

  6. Experience communicating to a variety of audiences, including both technical and consumer

  7. Analytical, communication and time management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts simply

  2. Ability to think creatively and strategically with an eye for detail and proven project management skills

  3. Experience working in a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
