Summary:

Facebook seeks a Communications Manager to support communications efforts for the Vice President, Global Marketing Solutions (GMS).

The Communications Manager is a new position. The goal of the role is to improve the quality and consistency of GMS leadership communications and define new possibilities for the VP of GMS. Ideal candidates can demonstrate a strong portfolio of communications in multiple formats (email, published articles, speeches, wikis, presentations, and story-telling). Success in this position requires a deep understanding of Facebook's business, as well as the advertising industry and the role that Facebook plays within that community. This individual excels at working collaboratively with executives and colleagues alike and consistently delivers high-quality work even under extreme time constraints.

This position reports to the Business Lead for the Vice President, Global Marketing Solutions.

Required Skills:

  1. Author regular communications such as group updates, monthly goals recaps, orientation meetings, and all-hands presentations

  2. Develop the internal communication strategy, across a variety of complex topics, for the VP of GMS

  3. Research and package content from internal and external resources to develop insightful and engaging narratives that fit the authentic style of the VP of GMS

  4. Partner with the Global Business Marketing team to proactively develop industry-leading content for delivery at high profile industry events

  5. Work with the Communications team to identify and execute on opportunities to distribute appearances and marketing narratives to increase visibility and impact

  6. 10% travel

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of work experience

  2. Proven track record of leadership within a field or industry, and experience thinking across multiple topics

  3. Experience at a Communications agency or news/publishing platform

  4. Project management and decision-making experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Editing abilities with an adaptable style

  2. Self-directed, proactive and energetic

  3. Ability to work quickly, accept feedback, and learn quickly

  4. Ability to think and communicate strategically across a variety of stakeholders

  5. Deep understanding and passion for Facebook
