Facebook is seeking a highly motivated and flexible Commercial Counsel to support commercial transactions for Facebook. You’ll be drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, with primary focus on Workplace by Facebook, our new SaaS enterprise service. The role requires good judgment, a strong work ethic, and a keen interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in fast-paced, fun environment.
Diligent and proactive, you are expected to bring excellent business judgment, legal acumen, project management, stakeholder management experience and ability to work both cross-functionally and independently, as the situation may require. This is a full-time position.
Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for Workplace, Facebook's SaaS product, ranging from standard contracts to one-off, complex, strategic transactions
Advising business on various other commercial legal issues
Building relationships and effectively collaborating with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, etc.) to ensure business needs are met
J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
3+ years technology transactions experience working at or for technology companies (either in-house and/or at a global law firm) with experience negotiating strategic transactions
Experience drafting, negotiating and managing technology deals including SaaS agreements, technology licensing, product development, and platform integrations
Experience working on and managing multiple projects and deals simultaneously under deadlines
Problem-solving, multi-tasking, communication and interpersonal experience and experience managing several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
- Technology law background, including privacy/data protection law
