Building 8 brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and content. We have a clear mandate to ship products at scale. In particular, seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of connecting the world. The B8 team will apply DARPA-style breakthrough development at the intersection of ambitious science and product development. It will operate on aggressive, fixed timelines, with extensive use of partnerships in universities, small and large businesses. The Product Launch Team has the responsibility for taking breakthroughs and delivering them to market at scale.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Product Manager to help innovate and execute product initiatives across the organization. We are looking for someone who has a track record of bringing order out of chaos, who has business acumen to help create new ground-breaking products, who will seamlessly collaborate with teams in software engineering, UX design, go-to-market, product marketing and finance to support product roadmap definition and drive a robust product management process from discovery to development to launch.

Through your leadership you will develop thoughtful, customer-focused and innovative solutions to complex problems inspiring your stakeholders and supporting a robust and profitable product strategy. We are looking for a slightly impatient individual willing to face down their fear of failure to accomplish bold things. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.

Required Skills:

  1. Understand Building 8’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry

  2. Develop outstanding strategic relationships with internal and external partners and business teams in order to collaborate on product software development and business processes

  3. Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers

  4. Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

  5. Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products

  6. Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

  7. Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm

  8. Coordinate and scale cross-functional efforts across the globe

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years product management experience

  2. 5+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams

  3. Communication, presentation, organizational and analytical experience

  4. Software product management experience, including defining product vision, analyzing product and market fit, use case definition, and crisp articulation of product specs and requirements

  5. BA/BS in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Graduate Degree (Computer Science, MBA or similar)

  2. Experience developing consumer products, technologies and platforms

  3. Track record defining and delivering innovative software products running on first of its kind consumer hardware
