Cultural Moments is a new team formed to ship best-in-class creative within the Facebook app to celebrate the moments that matter to our community and our brand. We are a multi-disciplinary group of designers, illustrators, researchers, and content strategists who partner closely with engineering, product, and marketing to deliver on our charter. Our work sits at the intersection brand and product and our audience includes the 2 billion people around the world who use Facebook every month.

This position is full-time and based in Menlo Park, CA.

Required Skills:

  1. Create sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and/or design specifications necessary to guide development of beautiful, useful, and consistent experiences

  2. Produce and direct strong conceptual and expressive illustrations that are engaging and reflect a cohesive brand illustration aesthetic

  3. Work closely with the Creative Director and Content Strategist to implement a cohesive visual style, voice, and tone

  4. Deliver content that’s delightful, beautiful, and clear and with a high level of finish and polish

  5. Seek out creative opportunities to improve on existing style and approach

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years experience as Art Director at a creative agency or an in-house team

  2. A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work (include link on your resume)

  3. Presentation, interpersonal, and communication experience

  4. Experience communicating concepts

  5. Time management, task prioritization experience and experience in identifying problems and work towards solutions

  6. Experience coordinating, directing, and guiding the work of other designers on your team

  7. Experience taking design feedback

  8. Knowledge of design principles related to branding, marketing, and publishing with knowledge of UX design, information hierarchy, user-flow, and typography

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Expertise in illustration and animation
